I was so happy to see that Taste is still alive and doing well in South Haven. It’s been 11 years since I visited this town and this restaurant. Of course I had to dine here again since I had a great experience last time, and it did not disappoint. Austin was our server and took great care of us. He was friendly and personable. My husband and I started out with martini cocktails, a paper plane (bourbon drink) for him and a blueberry lemon one for me. Both were tasty. We decided to share four small plates for dinner, cilantro tuna roll, seafood dip, blue gill and jerk shrimp. Each plate was delicious. Food and cocktails on point! I definitely recommend Taste.
Food was delish and presentation was wonderful. I had the beef sandwich and it was so good with the Parmesan crust. My kiddos Mac and cheese was so good!! My husband got two of the small plates as his meal - shrimp and fried artichokes. Make sure to get a reservation! We will be posting a full review on @midwestpassport Instagram
This restaurant is a MUST TRY when you’re in town!! Their food is top notch! We were in town for 2 nights and we had to eat here both days, that’s how good it was the first night! The jerk shrimp is a MUST!! Coconut sweet rice with a perfectly seasoned slightly spicy shrimp… what a combo! We also LOVED their sushi! The atmosphere and the location are perfect. Service was excellent as well! If you’re a fan of bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and great drinks, this place is an absolute must-visit. Overall experience, delicious food, exceptional service, and a fantastic atmosphere! 10/10 in every way. We will definitely be coming back!
The small plates to share were delicious. We tried the fillet bites. The Korean barbecue is really good. The Phoenix sushi was really good. The martinis were good too. I recommend the paper plane.
The most delicious seafood I’ve ever had!! There’s also a beautiful view of the riverfront/marina directly across the street if you sit outside. Perfect for a hot summer day if you’re looking for an outdoor restaurant. Would come here again 1000%!!
Awesome spot. If you have a big party make a reservation. Not exactly kid friendly. Espresso martini is great. Amazing local beer selection too. It is pricey. But 100 percent worth it
We ate on the patio in June and everything was wonderful! We ordered two small plates per person which was a good amount of food for us and allowed us to try several different things. Would recommend arriving early to put your name on the list as it can fill up quick. We arrived around 5 and were seated by 5:30. Overall, a great experience!
In South Haven for the day and wanted to try a small lunch, Taste was a perfect choice because they offer small plates. The tomato soup and Barata were perfect. We also tried the potato pancakes, they were warm and delicious. We ate outside on a nice sunny day in the shade. Good, quick and efficient service. We enjoyed our small lunch at Taste.
Taste is a must-visit restaurant in South Haven, Michigan. Known for its small eats, martinis and more - there’s something for everyone. I loved the crispy artichokes + sweet & spicy shrimp. Awesome kids’ meal options like burgers and Mac n cheese. Great vibes here and fantastic service. Right downtown and close to the South Pier and harbor!
Great atmosphere, great service and great food! Make a reservation because South Haven is small, and this is a popular place that books up fast. I was there in the off season, and still needed a reservation. Now, once you get in there, it’s on! This is a small plates style restaurant. There were two of us dining, and we ordered four items to share. The jerk shrimp w/ coconut rice, and Korean bbq chicken were absolutely amazing!! I would’ve ordered two of each as my meal. I want to go back here again, just to have these two dishes, and I hope they don’t take them off the menu. Lastly, the peach cobbler was unlike anything I have ever had before. Nice and lightly sweet with a fabulous crunch for texture. Absolutely delicious!! My server was awesome, and it just felt like a down to earth vibe that welcomes everyone. If you’re in South Haven, it’s a spot you must try.
